ElcoLynx (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the ElcoHunt mobile applications and website (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Platform.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.

- Hunting licence and permit details (optional, stored locally)
- Banking details (for outfitter payout processing only)
- Booking details including travel dates and guest counts
- Payment information (processed securely via PayFast — we do not store card details)
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- App usage data and crash reports
- Approximate location (for farm discovery features — only when app is in use)
- Push notification tokens (for sending booking notifications)

- To create and manage your account
- To process bookings and payments
- To facilitate communication between hunters and outfitters
- To send booking confirmations, receipts, and important notifications
- To improve our Platform and develop new features
- To comply with legal obligations
- To prevent fraud and ensure platform security
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- With farms and outfitters: When you make a booking, your name, contact details, and booking information are shared with the relevant outfitter.
- With service providers: When you request butchery or taxidermy services, relevant details are shared with the service provider.
- Payment processors: PayFast processes payments. See PayFast's privacy policy for details.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or court order.
- Supabase: Our database and authentication provider. Data is stored on servers compliant with GDPR and international security standards.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Row-Level Security on all database tables, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
6. Your Rights (POPIA)
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to the processing of your personal information
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. Booking records are retained for 7 years for financial compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
