Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ElcoHunt mobile applications or website (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. The Platform

ElcoHunt is a marketplace platform that connects hunters with hunting farms, lodges, and related service providers. We facilitate bookings but are not a party to the hunting experience itself. All hunting activities take place on the outfitter's property and are subject to their terms and conditions.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • One account may be used across all ElcoHunt apps (hunter, outfitter, butcher, taxidermy, range).
  • We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

4. Bookings and Payments

  • All bookings are subject to availability and outfitter confirmation.
  • Payments are processed securely via PayFast.
  • ElcoHunt charges a platform fee of 10% on completed bookings.
  • Cancellation policies vary by outfitter — review the specific policy before booking.
  • We do not guarantee refunds beyond what the outfitter's policy provides.

5. Outfitter Obligations

By listing on ElcoHunt, outfitters agree to:

  • Hold all required South African hunting concessions, PHASA memberships, and provincial permits.
  • Ensure all professional hunters are licensed and registered with the relevant authority.
  • Comply with all applicable wildlife legislation and hunting regulations.
  • Provide accurate listings and honour confirmed bookings.
  • Maintain adequate public liability insurance.

6. Hunter Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for obtaining all required hunting licences and permits.
  • You must comply with the outfitter's rules, safety requirements, and applicable law.
  • You assume all risks associated with hunting activities.
  • Overseas hunters must comply with CITES and import/export regulations for trophies.

7. Subscriptions

Premium features for outfitters and service providers are available via monthly or annual subscription. Subscriptions are managed through Google Play or Apple App Store and are subject to their respective terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

8. Prohibited Conduct

  • Facilitating illegal hunting, poaching, or wildlife trafficking.
  • Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users.
  • Circumventing the platform to avoid fees.
  • Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ElcoLynx (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Pretoria, Gauteng.
